Each of these organizations are serving a need\u00a0in our community. Thanks to our members\u2019 giving hearts, we donated <strong>$25,200<\/strong>\u00a0this quarter and people&#8217;s lives are being impacted on a daily basis.\u00a0 To date, our chapter has donated <strong>$375,325<\/strong>\u00a0to local charities.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2757\" src=\"https:\/\/www.100wwcvalleyofthesun.org\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Master-ICAN-small-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.100wwcvalleyofthesun.org\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Master-ICAN-small-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.100wwcvalleyofthesun.org\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Master-ICAN-small-150x100.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.100wwcvalleyofthesun.org\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Master-ICAN-small.jpg 350w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Ahwatukee donated <strong>$10,600<\/strong> to <a href=\"http:\/\/icanaz.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>ICAN Positive Program for Youth<\/strong><\/a>. ICAN is a free youth center in the East Valley that offers programming for youth, teens, families and the community. ICAN\u2019s nationally-recognized prevention programming teaches disadvantaged youth real-life skills including goal setting, positive decision making and how to avoid the risky behaviors that are prevalent in the community ICAN serves.<\/p>\n<p>Our donations will be used to support the youth after-school programs offered in Chandler.\u00a0 Specifically, funding support staff to provide the program, supplies needed to facilitate program activities, food and transportation costs associated with the program and a portion of program training and development to ensure the highest quality programs are provided to kids.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2758\" src=\"https:\/\/www.100wwcvalleyofthesun.org\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Master-GA-Small-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.100wwcvalleyofthesun.org\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Master-GA-Small-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.100wwcvalleyofthesun.org\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Master-GA-Small-150x100.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.100wwcvalleyofthesun.org\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Master-GA-Small.jpg 350w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gabrielsangels.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Gabriel&#8217;s Angels<\/strong><\/a> was the recipient of <strong>$9,050<\/strong> in donations from our Scottsdale group. This local nonprofit delivers healing pet therapy to at-risk children, nurturing their emotional development and enhancing the quality of their lives forever.\u00a0 Their purpose is to provide opportunity for at-risk children to build core behaviors needed for a brighter future.\u00a0 These behaviors include trust, empathy, respect,\u00a0and others consistently lacking in this population.<\/p>\n<p>Our donations will be used to directly support the Pet Therapy Teams.\u00a0 It costs $3,500 per team, each year, to provide therapy to the kids.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2756\" src=\"https:\/\/www.100wwcvalleyofthesun.org\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Winged-Hope-Master-Small-300x206.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"206\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.100wwcvalleyofthesun.org\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Winged-Hope-Master-Small-300x206.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.100wwcvalleyofthesun.org\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Winged-Hope-Master-Small-150x103.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.100wwcvalleyofthesun.org\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Winged-Hope-Master-Small.jpg 350w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Our East Valley group selected <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wingedhope.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Winged Hope Family Advocacy Foundation<\/strong><\/a> and donated <strong>$5,400<\/strong>.\u00a0 Winged Hope&#8217;s programs focus on Child Abuse and Domestic Violence Awareness, Prevention and Treatment, and many of the related issues that arise as a result of, or as a precursor to, child abuse and domestic violence.<\/p>\n<p>Our donations will provide direct services to the victims by providing therapy, education, basic necessities such as rent, groceries, utilities, and anything else needed when the victims come out of an abusive situation.<\/p>\n<p>Our next quarterly giving circles are April 16th in Ahwatukee, April 18th in the East Valley and MONDAY, April 22nd\u00a0in Scottsdale.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>YEAR FIVE&#8230;can you believe it?!?\u00a0 We&#8217;re so blessed to come together every quarter and make a difference in our community.\u00a0 Children were a common theme among our groups this quarter.\u00a0 All our selected charities serve children in one way or another; whether it be kids affected by abuse, trauma,\u00a0violence or a need to keep them [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":4,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_et_pb_use_builder":"","_et_pb_old_content":"","_et_gb_content_width":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[13],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-2783","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-impact-journal"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.5 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>Q1 2019 - YEAR FIVE!
