{"id":2559,"date":"2018-09-20T17:58:46","date_gmt":"2018-09-21T00:58:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.100wwcvalleyofthesun.org\/new\/?p=2559"},"modified":"2018-09-20T17:59:28","modified_gmt":"2018-09-21T00:59:28","slug":"q3-2018-going-strong","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.100wwcvalleyofthesun.org\/new\/impact-journal\/q3-2018-going-strong\/","title":{"rendered":"Q3 2018 = Going Strong!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Q3 2018 = GOING STRONG!<\/p>\n<p>Year FOUR is going strong!\u00a0This quarter our groups touched the lives of individuals battling Parkinson&#8217;s disease; mothers experiencing a tragic life event; first responders and their families; and disadvantaged youth and teens. Each of these organizations are doing important work in our community. Thanks to our members\u2019 giving hearts, we donated <strong>$28,500<\/strong>\u00a0this quarter and people&#8217;s lives are being impacted on a daily basis.\u00a0 To date, our chapter has donated <strong>$322,800<\/strong> to local charities.<\/p>\n<p>Ahwatukee donated <strong>$11,300<\/strong> to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bannerhealth.com\/services\/neurosciences-stroke\/support\/banner-neuro-wellness\">Banner Neuro Wellness<\/a><\/strong>, an organization under the umbrella of Banner Health Foundation.\u00a0 This organization provides\u00a0complementary to current medical treatments and therapies for individuals and families who are affected by Parkinson&#8217;s disease and other neurological conditions.<\/p>\n<p>It costs $45 a month for individuals with Parkinson&#8217;s disease to use the program and facilities. Our donations will be used to provide scholarships to people who cannot afford this vital resource.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2558\" src=\"https:\/\/www.100wwcvalleyofthesun.org\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Master-Banner-Neuro-small-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mothers-grace.org\/\">Mother&#8217;s Grace<\/a><\/strong> was the recipient of <strong>$8,800<\/strong> in donations from our Scottsdale group.\u00a0This charity is dedicated to the support of mothers and children who have endured life tragedies. By providing financial support and guidance, Mother\u2019s Grace empowers these women to reach their goals of making a difference in their communities by helping others inflicted with similar circumstances.\u00a0Mother\u2019s Grace is committed to healing the world one mother at a time.<\/p>\n<p>Our donations will be used to help between 5 and 10 Valley families with their immediate needs such as rent, utilities, car repairs, groceries, medical payments, and other acute needs that are explained in Mother\u2019s Grace. <strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Our donation will be used for outreach and implementation of the program in our community.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2557\" src=\"https:\/\/www.100wwcvalleyofthesun.org\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Master-Mothers-Grace-small-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Our West Valley sister group donated <strong>$2,600<\/strong> to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.100club.org\" data-cke-saved-href=\"http:\/\/www.100club.org\"><strong>100 Club of Arizona<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<\/strong>\u00a0 This charity&#8217;s mission is to provide financial assistance to families of first responders who are seriously injured or killed in the line of duty and provide resources to enhance their safety and welfare. They have proudly served the public safety community since 1968.<\/p>\n<p>Our donations will be used in the general fund for whatever the most pressing need is at the time, including financial assistance to families and safety stipends.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2555\" src=\"https:\/\/www.100wwcvalleyofthesun.org\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Master-100-Club-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Our East Valley group selected <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/icanaz.org\/\">I<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/icanaz.org\/\">CAN Positive Program for Youth<\/a><\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/icanaz.org\/\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/a>and donated <strong>$5,700<\/strong>. ICAN is a free youth center in the East Valley that offers programming for youth, teens, families and the community. ICAN\u2019s nationally-recognized prevention programming teaches disadvantaged youth real-life skills including goal setting, positive decision making and how to avoid the risky behaviors that are prevalent in the community ICAN serves.<\/p>\n<p>Our donations will be used to support the youth after-school programs offered in Chandler.\u00a0 Specifically, funding support staff to provide the program, supplies needed to facilitate program activities, food and transportation\u00a0costs associated with the program and a portion of program training and development to ensure the highest quality programs are provided to kids.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2566\" src=\"https:\/\/www.100wwcvalleyofthesun.org\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/ICAN-Master-small-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Congratulations to our very own\u00a0Kim Tarnopolski for receiving the First Runner Up award in the MASK Moms Making a Difference series.
